Pooky will be chairing the ‘Responding to Anxiety and Depression in Children and Young People’ conference in London on 1st April 2017, and Waller Trainers Andrew Caress and Megan Kash-Macdonald will be speaking. Andrew spoke at last year’s conference which was a great success.
The ‘Responding to Anxiety and Depression in Children and Young People’ conference aims to educate people about what these diagnoses really mean, as well as the reality of living with these conditions.
The talks include a personal account of the struggle of living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, as well as presentations on understanding and responding to self- harm and the benefits of mindfulness to the emotional wellbeing of students. This conference will hopefully promote greater awareness of the complexities of living with these illnesses and help to break down the stigma that sadly still surrounds mental health disorders. There will also be a talk on ‘Developing resilience and coping skills in exam season,’ due to the fact that it will be held right before the summer term.
If this day sounds of interest to you, please come along! It will take place on the 1st of April 2017 at Woodhouse College, London. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
