Dr Pooky Knightsmith interviews two teaching assistants who’ve just participated in a two-hour introduction to story massage and positive touch techniques. They talk about how they would use these techniques in back at work – they work in a PRU (pupil referral unit) and were bursting with good ideas.
The course was delivered as part of a Health Education England funded project by Sandra Hooper and Mary Atkinson on behalf of the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust. If you’d like to know more about this, or other courses or resources that might support you in promoting the mental health of young people you work with, please email email@example.com or take a look at our ‘free stuff‘ page.
The book we refer to is ‘Once Upon a Touch’ by Sandra Hooper and Mary Atkinson. I recently did a walk through of the book which you might find useful too.
You can subscribe via iTunes to my podcasts should you wish too – I’d love your feedback on this and the others as I’m brand new to it – let me know what you like and don’t like so far and what you might like in the future.
