In my role as director of the children and young people’s programme at the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust I’ve been involved in an exciting project the last few months. Working with the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Young Minds and a whole host of fabulous young people, parents and professionals who’ve experienced self-harm, we’ve produced three short videos and three accompanying information packs designed to provide hope and practical support for those affected by self-harm.
These resources are not designed to be exhaustive but rather to provide people with the confidence and inspiration they need to start the conversation either about their own self-harm or someone else’s.

We are proud of what we’ve created and we’d love you to use the resources widely. Please feel free to share them with your networks or host them on your site. We want them to be shared as widely as possible.
Please take a moment to comment below and tell us about:
- What you think of the resources
- If you’ll be sharing them and how (our trustees love to learn about the impact when the trust’s funds are invested in a project like this)
- Whether you would like us to develop further such resources and any ideas around this
If you would like a copy of the high res videos to upload to your site, please email email@example.com. If you are hosting an event and would like pre-loaded USB sticks or cards with information about how to access the resources for your colleagues, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you require further support, CWMT also provide fully funded INSET training or parent or pupil workshops about self-harm.
